BIO
I grew up in cattle-and-oil country of northeastern Oklahoma, spending lots of time outdoors on a horse
or turned loose with tools and materials from nature and a family of craftspeople.
I later majored in art at the University of Tulsa, earned an MA in Painting, taught art
in public schools and raised a son and daughter.
I drew and painted, worried too much, did juried and invitational shows, and struggled through sad
and dark years that are over now so I don’t dwell on them.
It's just great to know that we can come through those things full circle and live in joy again.
STATEMENT
I basically document my beautiful-again simple life in New Mexico and Oklahoma.
I paint the things that I love to look at and experience
. I try to express the feeling of a windy day on the pasture, the joy of simple objects,
and tell a visual story of a life filled with love, a spirit of play, and much gratitude.
I hope my viewers relate to something in my work or feel like picking up a brush themselves, finding their lives a little richer.
